… 20 years cooking for you with the same passion as the very first day.
In Cueva La Martina we are celebrating our anniversary. 20 years ago we have opened our restaurant in the town of Campo de Criptana, “land of giants” and Don Quixote.
We are very fortunate because we belong to that small group of people who love their profession: Cooking is our passion and our life. This itself is a reason to celebrate every day, but this year in addition we celebrate an important anniversary.
It’s been already 20 years since we opened for the first time the doors of our restaurant whose name refers to the women who lived in this place. Before we turned it into a ‘culinary temple’, “La Martina” lived here, in this cave-dwelling, carved into the rock of the Sierra de los Molinos hills and which has been typical for the area as from the 16th century.
When we decided to ‘adventure’ on the opening of a restaurant, which would offer the best of La Mancha’s rich culinary culture, we wanted to do it in a unique place. And what better, than to choose one of the region’s most privileged spots, surrounded by the “giants” that Miguel de Cervantes immortalized in Don Quixote?
And we were right, because we are still here, 20 years later, in the same location where one of the most important passages of Cervantes’ masterpiece takes place: Don Quixote’s struggle with the windmills.
But this would not be possible withour you, our customers. So, it is time to thank you again. Thanks for letting us cook for you! We hope to welcome you soon again serving you new and traditional dishes of our La Mancha gastronomy.
Thank you very much!
