Campo de Criptana, expects you for its ‘great week’, the fiesta in honor of the town’s patron saint Cristo de Villajos which starts next Sunday. Cueva la Martina will open every day, offering as always delicious meals.
August is the month of fairs and fiestas in Castilla-La Mancha, and Campo de Criptana is no exception. From 23 to 28 August we will celebrate our most important local festival, the Fiesta of the Cristo de Villajos.
On 6 August took place the religious procession, bringing the statue of the Cristo from its Sanctuary to the Parish Church in town. This is a tradition we repeat every year on the first Thursday of August, thus also called “Jueves del Cristo” (Thursday of the Christ). Since then and for a month the statue remains in Campo de Criptana.
On the night of 23 August we come together for another procession, carrying the statue of our patron saint through the streets of Campo de Criptana. The procession gives way to six days of celebrations with a full agenda of cultural, sports and leisure activities and entertainment: literary contests, painting, music bands, dance and regional songs, floats and parades, sport competitions etc.
Our restaurant, Cueva la Martina, we will open every day. Book your table so that also during the fair you can live on good and delicious food – either on our terrace or in the restaurant, enjoying traditional La Mancha cuisine and/or Gourmet Barbecue meat.
¡Felices Fiestas!
